Collectibles-General (Antiques)/Penn Table Company

Question
I have a matching dining table, 6 chairs and buffet. There is a paper label on the underside of the table that says Penn Table Company, Huntington, WVa, Walnut, number X229, size 42x58-6.  The table has one of those attached leaves that hides under the table when not in use. I have not been able to find any info on the Penn Table Company, nor the approx. age or any info at all on the furniture.  Any info you could offer would be appreciated :)

Answer
Hi Kelly
Nice to hear from you.
The Penn Table Company was in business from 1913 to 1935 in Huntington WVa so we know for sure that it had to be made in that time frame.
I understand they made quality furniture, but I could find nothing else about the company.
Examples of their furniture can be found on ebay on occasion so you could possibly look there for a value.
Hope this has helped Kelly and thanks for a great question.
Kindest Regards
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
