Collectibles-General (Antiques)/Pewter Chocolate Urn

Question
I was just helping a friend of mine who's mother just passed away.  She has an urn that was given to her great grandparents as a wedding gift.  It is about 12 inches tall and on the bottom it has a stamp of "W" on it. (they are of German decent) It has a pretty decoration on the front of it.  The story goes that back then chocolate was a delacy and so someone gave this urn full of chololate to them for their wedding.  We are just wondering if it is a valuable item or not.  She is trying to decide who should get it and if it is valuable, who would take care of it.

Answer
-

The chocolate story is just a story - might be true, might not, either way it's irrelevant to the piece.

It is hard to judge exactly what this piece is, but it is unlikely to be of significance or especially valuable. Items of this general type are common.
