Question
QUESTION: Dear Mr. Roberts,
I came across your address on the internet, and thought you might be able to help.
I have, (among others) a one pint pewter mug, presented and engraved to my father in 1942. Due to travel and travaille over the intervening years, it has a split lip, and a bent base.
It is not cast but nicely formed and soldered.
I would be most grateful as to your advice as to where I might get it properly repaired.
Yours Sincerely,
David Duffy

There is a good pewter restorer located close to you. As this answer is in the public domain I won't give his contact details here, but if you contact me at stynt@btopenworld.com with a return email address, I shall forward details to you.
