Question
I bought a pewter cup? I guess you would call it a few years ago. It has an angel engraved on the bottom,I'm not sure if thats a trademark or not.It has the 2 lions holding a sheild of some sort with a crown above it and the words In Treue Fest in a banner underneath. There is more engravings around it (an eagle on the opposite side for example). It stands about 4" high.Could you tell me something about its origin, and maybe if it's of any value?Thank you for your time

Angels are used in maker's marks in many parts of Continental Europe over a long period. "In treue fest" is the motto of Bavaria.

I cannot identify this object further from your description. If you can send photos (side, underneath, close ups of marks, in focus) to stynt@btopenworld.com, I shall comment further.
