Question
An antique dealer has a Coke machine that he has offered to sell me. I have the serial number and model number and wondered if you could give me an idea of the age of the machine and the approximate worth of it. The compressor seems to work ok and the case has no dents. The paint is worn and the glass in the vending door is broken. If you could find out anything about this model,it would be appreciated. The model # is HA110A the serial # is 310003274. Thanks in advance for your attention to this request.

Answer
Hi Tom, I been searching my information for anything, with your model number, and with no luck. You didn't tell me who manufactured it. So I had to do it with the model number only to go by. If I remember right, this happen to me once before with a model number just like yours, and as near as I could determine, my guess was that this model was just to new to be included in this reference book that I have. to try to help with vending machine questions. If your machine has square corners, it is most likely a newer model. Still it my be old like in the late 60's or 70's but just not high of enough in the pop machine collectors world to make it to a value guide. If I am correct in saying all this, my guess as to it's value would be any where from $150.00 to $400.00, depending on condition. The big collector market in pop machines, are the early round corner machines, they all seam to make the book. At this point doing what I could to help you. I would like to suggest that you maybe try searching your type of machine on ebay's auction to get some kind of value of what they're selling for there. If I can find any information on newer, or these type of machines in the future I will gather that information also for reference.

Now Tom, another matter here, I received a letter from all experts that makes me want to quit my free appraisal service with them. Which all this really amounts to, I do get a few question from people wanting to know all the history of there machines, but most just want a free appraisal, which is OK with me also. But I value feed back very much, as this is my only benefit from doing all this work for people. I have very little time and have tons of machines I could be fixing, instead of spending hours helping people with there questions. I could be making a lot of money with this extra time. So this comes to the letter I received from all experts that might make me decide to withdraw my free services. Can you tell me anything about this? I remember writing you that I would try to help you, and I never even got a chance to find out who manafactured your machine, or the time to do as I promised you I would, to see what I could find out. I my self feel that this was very unfair.

Roger,
The rating for knowledgeability is low because, as you explained and I didn't see, you admittedly didn't want questions about coin operated vending machines fielded your way. This, Roger, was my own fault and I apologize. Thanks for your quick reply. If you know of anyone that might be able to help, please contact me. Again, the knowledgeability rating isn't fair in this situation.

WOW Tom, I don't know if you looked at my stats, but I tried to discourage questions about vending machines, as I don't deal with them much at all, and ever since I changed my stats to reflect that, I have gotten a rash of questions about them. I wish I could answer why that is? Anyway these not coin operated games, but I am here to try to help, that is why I am here. So, any chance you could e-mail me a photo of it? If so, send it to jackpot7@ix.netcom.com In the mean time I'll see if I can find anything going on your description. Thank You
Sincerely
Rodger Knutson

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
