Question
I have a beautiful mini sewing machine in its original wood box with the perfect label on it picturing the machine etc. I do not know about these.  Can you give me an idea of the value of it.  Thank You. Mary

Answer
Hello Mary,
Your little sewing machine was made by the National Sewing Machine Co. of Belvidere, Illinois and they ceased operation in 1954.
Without seeing a photo, but from your description, I would guess that your machine dates to around the 1920's. These machines, especially if they are in mint condition and with the box and/or attachments, can fetch over $200 at auction.
Hope this helps.

Expertise

I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2. I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing. I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.
