Collectibles-General (Antiques)/Slot machine

Question
Dear Sir:

We found a old sot machine in a building on an old ranch we purchased.  There are no insides to it and there is a number on the inside of the cast housing  MLB1401-C.  The out side was obviously wood at one time.  I will have to borrow a digital camera to get you a picture.

Thanks for any help you may be.

Ron

Answer
Hi Ron,

Interesting......... I can tell you this, with what information you have here that it was a Mills Machine, the MLB numbers were casting numbers for mills machines. Is there a glued on paper on the inside cabinet, an inspection sheet, it would have a serial number hand written or stamped on it. Also if the front casting is still there you might find a number stamped along an edge or on top. If you have a serial number I could take a very good guess at the model. A photo would tell me all I need to know, so I could tell you everything about it at that point. When you get one, email it to me at jackpot7@ix.netcom.com
If you want to send one by mail let me know and I'll e-mail you an address.
Thank You
Rodger

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
