Question
I have a gumball machine that has a slotmachine-type game.   The 3 reels that you try to match up are pictures of old cigarette packages.  The packages include "Lucky Green", Wings, Fatima and such.  There is no seriel number.   I could work out send a photo later if it would help.    I have had it for 50 years.  Any thoughts on age and/or value?

Answer
Hi Paul,

Sorry for the little delay in getting to you, I been out of town. Your Groetchen Sparks Delux is a quite little machine, I had one at one time. Made in 1938 with the token payouts which made the a gambling machine! they came with cigarette reel strips and also beer and horse reels, they were either 1 cent or .05 cent machines and gave a gumball with every play. Value is around $275.00 on average. If you interested in me sending some more information if I can find more, please write me at jackpot7@ix.netcom.com and tell me that your looking for more information on the sparks as I get lost in my mail sometimes.
Thank You
Sincerely

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
