Question
I have been given a table that came to this country on the Mayflower. I want to know how to refinish or if I should.

Chances are the table never came on the Mayflower.
If all the furniture that has been attributted to coming on the Mayflower actually did, there would have been no room for passengers.
However if this is truly the case, of course you never refinish.
