Question
I have come into ownership of an antique Railroad style watch. What resources would you recommend for getting an appraisal?

The only place I would trust for an appraisal would be a reputable jeweller who fixes these old watches.
I too am fortunate enough to own one of these old beauties, and my jeweller said it was worth around $400.00
Mine is in extremely fine condition, and the appraisal was several years ago now.

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
