Collectibles-General (Antiques)/antique sewing machine

Question
My sewing machine belonged to my grandmother as a child. She was born around 1918. It has a hand crank with a feeder and a bobbin. It is painted a light army green color. It's made of metal with brass moving parts. The approximate measurements are 7 inches long and 6 inches tall and 3 inches wide at the base. The base is made from a stamped piece of metal and the bottom is shiny black. It is very well made and sturdy and works well. The number near the foot is 462806. I will try to send a picture. Can you provide any information as to the age, history and value? Thank you, Cindy Richards

Answer
Hello Cindy,
Thanks for your query.
Can you please send me photos of this small sewing machine. It is too difficult for me to identify from your description and realistically without a photo.
I'll keep checking my email @ xtahoeviews@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Irene

Expertise

I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2. I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing. I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.
