Question
A family member is looking to sell an extensive collection of ball gum and other penny vending machines.  I feel that he should seek an independent appraisal before entertaining offers.  Where would be a good place to start in establishing a value for this collection?

Answer
Hey John, there are really no official appraisers for gum ball or vending machines.  There are several books that basically show you a picture of just about every vending machine made and have pretty accurate price guides.  I do have the all of the books, and if you would want to send me group pictures of all of the machines, I will identify and tell you what the machines are worth.....When you do decide to sell the collection, I would be very interested any machines you have.  I will give you at least book value, if not more.  My e-mail address if n2coinop@aol.com to send the pictures to.
  Thank you
      Bob
