Question
I have a 24" diameter heavy brass plate with I believe arabic writing and strange looking antelopes and a very unique design. On the back it stamped...NURETIN SEMIZ...GUZELIS...ANKARA. Do you have any info on a piece such as this? Thank you, Jim

Answer
-

Not sure, but I would be very suspicious. Suspect it is unlikely to be old, and apparently has some Turkish link - but then why Arabic unless Koranic, in which case figurative design would be most unlikely.

Nurettin (double T), Semiz and Guzelis appear to be Turkish personal names.
