Hi Martin
I have 3 brass ladles which have brass looped handles with a hole in the end for hanging.
The handles have brass/copper rivits and they all fit into the larger one.
The small one is 2.5" high and the larger one is 4" (not inluding the handle) the handles range between 6/7 and 8" in length, they weigh from 4oz to 8oz. There is no marking on any of them. The diameter of the ladle ranges from 7cm to 8cm.
I was wandering what they were used for, if you would like a picture of these then please let me know.
Kind Regards
Nigel

Errm, they were used for ladling.
Thanks Martin
Smart answer but as there are no measures on the jug what do you think they would be ladling?
Could this be dairy or say cider for instance.
There is just a round shape to them do drinking spout, i was just interested that's all.
Thanks
Nigel
Answer-
THEY WERE USED FOR LADLING - what else is there to know? They could be used for ladling anything that could be ladled and which would not melt brass. If it's a ladle, it was used for ladling - there isn't a special type of ladle for each type of ladle-able liquid.
Why the interest in capacity - that is only required when measuring quantities ladled. In all other circumstances, you just ladle, and choose large, middle, small or whatever size is appropriate for the job in hand.
THERE IS NO MYSTERY HERE - these are common, ordinary, ladles.
My original answer was not smart, it was entirely, completely and wholly precise.
