Question
we bought a house full of "stuff" i found a brass chamber pot from a passenger train.there is a brass engraved plate on it that says "notice to passengers do not empty this toilet out of train window. central pacific rr. i know its hard to say without seeing it but does this sound like it might be old and worth anything? your profile was the only one that mentioned metal so i hope you can help me thank you very much for your time.  diane jenkins

I'm kind of the right guy, but the object itself is worth much less than its historical railway associations - there is a strong collectors market for railwayana. Unfortunately, I do not know any railwayana experts, but take a look on the web for them - they are out there!
