Hi Tom.  I'm afraid I would need a picture of the item to even begin to help you, but I can tell you this.  You can research patents on the Internet.  That would give you more specifics on what it was designed for.  Once you know exactly what it is, it will be easier to research a value by searching on eBay and other internet sales sites.  Good luck with your hunt!  Barb
