Collectibles-General (Antiques)/coffee pot

Question
Hi,

We have a coffee pot I think its pewter but there are markings on the bottom, its stamped M and its made by James Dickson & Sons Seffield 4049 4.

We wondered if you had any idea who this is or whether its worth selling?

Thanks

Claire & Darren Richards

Dixon, not Dickson. Sheffield, England. Britannia metal (fabricated from pewter sheet). Dixon's had a long life, so this could be 1840 - 1920. 4 is probably capacity in half-pints (Imperial). 4049 is a pattern number. M is probably the workman or workbench where made within the factory. If is excellent condition worth perhaps $100, otherwise a lot less.

Good luck on eBay.
