Question

end table with leather
I just picked this up at a flea market and was curious about anything you could tell me about it.  thanks,

Answer
Hi Gary
Nice to hear from you.
Sure I can tell you something about this table.
It appears to have a veneer top..possibly mahogany.
The legs I suspect could be maple.
The table has a colored laquer finish applied.
The table was made in the 60's 0r 70's...thats 1960 or 1970.
This is a table that is placed at the end of a couch...an end table.
The upper portion is for a lamp, and the bottom was for ash trays LOL...smoking was encouraged back then...Oh yes..and beer glasses.
This older furniture I always found to be very well made, and it could certainly be refinished and look very nice in the home.
Great question which I enjoyed answering.

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
