Answer
Hi Genny
So nice to hear from you.
I do not give appraisals, but perhaps I can be of some help on this for you.
Genny, I live in Canada, so the prices may vary, but not too much I hope.
I base what I will tell you on how much I see these items selling for here, nothing else, and really any item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
The shoe shine box...$50.00 to $75.00.
The ironing board...$75.00 to $100.00
Salt and peppers...$5.00 to the skys the limit if the subject matter is rare.
You should be able to purchase a book on collecting salt and peppers at your local book store.
Hope I have helped you, and thank you for writing.
Regards
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
