Question
I have an oval  wooden carved picture of roses in a vase, approximately 18 inches by 12 inches. It is stamped with Flemish Art Co. of New york, with the number 882. It is hand written on the back Set. 28, 1912. Can you tell me anything about this piece or should I sell it in my garage sale?

Answer
Hi Shirley
Nice to hear from you.
Shirley I have had several inquiries about this art and I just cannot find anything about it.
But for heavens sake do not put it in a yard sale yet LOL.
Would you consider carefully reading the areas of expertise my fellow experts excel in (same page you found me) and perhaps pose this question to one of them...you never know till you ask.
I will be watching and hoping someone can help you.
Kindest Regards
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
