Question
Have got a little measuring cup less than 2 inches tall. it has a handle and is marked on bottom with gaskell & chambers, Birmingham. Has 1/5 gill on front. Any ideas on what it is and what its worth please.

Quite an unusual way to deonominate the capacity, but the size (equivalent to 1 fluid ounce) is very, very common. Very late, probably c1940. It is a measure, as you say, for measuring liquid capacity, usually in a pub. Value around 1 pound.
