Question
I have an antique couch/chair combination. One of the hinges on the couch seems to be broken. Local upholsters cannot seem to find a hinge to replace it. I would rather not replace the couch because it is so well made and has very pretty wood. How can i find a replacement hinge?

Answer
Jeff - First I suggest you try to have the hinge repaired by a metal worker. Hinges just aren't that complicated. If that doesn't work try looking in Van Dyke's Restorers. Online they are at www.vandykes.com. If you don't find it there try visiting antique restoration shops. You would be surprised at what most restorers have saved in buckets and boxes.

Jeff - Here is another place to look for your hinge.
