Question
QUESTION: I recently purchased (today) pepsi pop machine made by Ideal Dispenser Co. of bloomington, Illinois.  Model A-55, serial #2G70365.  I was wondering what the age of tit is?

ANSWER: Hi Ken,

hope you read this about my Expertise:I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. That being said are you able to send a photo via email? My email address is jackpot7@ix.netcom.com I don't have anything for the Ideal model 55-A but I do have information for the Ideal Model 55-B which I am guessing is the same box an maybe a different option? All information I have for Ideals are all model B's. The 55-B was produced in the late 40's to late 50's. vends 50 bottles size 42" high, 37" wide, and 19 1/2" deep. value in average condition is $450.00 and restored is $1,850.00. This is a slider meaning you slide your soda through a rack to pull it out. There are two Pepsi versions, the one from the 40's has the double dot, Pepsi logo embossed on the front. The later version began around 1950 when Pepsi changed their logo. The double dot could be worth an extra $50.00 in value.
I hope this gives you the information your looking for Ken.
Thank You
Sincerely
Rodger Knutson

QUESTION: What do you mean by the double dot on the logo?  Also my machine does not have the slider or the coin machine and is in average to good condition.  there are some scratches but paint is good with no rust.

Answer
Hi Ken, Why did you give me such a bad feed back for just trying to help you? Look at my expertise, I explain how I don't want any questions on pop and scales, but I would try to help you. I did a lot of work researching and finding information about you cooler, and for free! I don't understand people like you, just selfish I guess. There is not much in print about scales and pop machine and information is very hard to find. I don't deal or collect them so I am no expert on them, I say that on my heading. Now you ruined my feedback and this might make me quit helping people, there is nothing in it for me anyway. I gave you all good information, and current value. Anyway I hope you happy and hope the information was good for you. Here's my pay for helping you that you left me:

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
