Question
HI, I'M JUST WONDERING IF YOU WOULD HAVE ANY IDEA AS TO THE MAKER OF A THIMBLE I HAVE. MY MOTHER GAVE THIS TO ME AND TOLD ME THAT IT WAS PURE GOLD. THE MARKING ON IT LOOKS KIND OF LIKE AN APPLE OR A HEART WITH THE LETTER 'M' INSIDE. ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH THIS MARKING? THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. HEIDI.

Answer
Hi Heidi.  I could help you if I could see the marking.  If you can send me a digital picture, please do so:  bacchino@twcny.rr.com  Besides the marking, please send a picture of the thimble itself to show the band pattern, if there is any.  If you can't send a digital picture, it would be best to take your thimble to someone who knows sewing tools, as there are many different maker's marks.  I doubt if your thimble is pure gold, as it would be way too soft to use.  It could be 24k, 18k, 10k or so on.  Hope to hear from you again.  Barb
