Question
Hello,
I recently purchased two double tier leather inlay end tables. The leather is a bit worn, can I refurbish this, and if so with what? The wood looks like mahogany. The table legs are pretty good except one spot. Looks like a puppy may have used it for a bone. Also the mame "Marcek Furniture" with a number,  is on the underside of the table drawer and I can not find this furniture company on line. Ever hear of the name?

Answer
Hi Nancy
Nice to hear from you.
Like you I could find nothing about Marcek Furniture.
You can use "saddle soap" on the leather to refurbish it.
This is available at all hardware stores.
Follow directions on label. This works very well on leather.
Where the puppy chewed you could try staining with a color that matches the wood. Sounds like it will be a walnut color by your description.
Thanks for a great question
Regards
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
