Collectibles-General (Antiques)/lizzy high doll storage

Question
My wife has a small collection of Lizzy High dolls.  When we moved we wrapped them in tissue paper, placed them in a plastic storage box with a top and stored them in an unheated dirt floored large closet in our cellar.  When I took them out about 2 years later there was a very mouldy musky odor to them.  I was able to get the smell out and now want to store them again.  How and where do you suggest we store them.
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Gene
Nice to hear from you.
First off, do not put the dolls in a basement again :-)
If you wrap the dolls in tissue, and place them in a storage box again they will be fine.
Try an area on the upper floor.
I really like those under the bed storage containers.
Good Luck
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
