hi i have a sewing tool that was my late late grandfathers and i cant find out any information about it i was hoping you might be able to help  the only information on the box is that it is called the cidu stitching appliance it stitche s canvas leather felt carpets cardboard etc it looks like its made from some sort of stone and is the shape of a light bulb but longer it has a needle running all the way through it with a nut that tightens the needle at the bottom please can you help is it a antique or collectable many thanks louise

Hello Louise.  I have consulted with a needle expert and she is at a loss without a picture.  Are you able to send a ditigal picture to me at bacchino@twcny.rr.com so that I can share it with Christina?  Also, is there an "eye" for the needle?  The stone material is what is throwing us.  We think it is some sort of punch, but do need a picture to be sure.  Sorry I can't be of more help at this time.  Barb
