Question
we have an old popcorn vending machine (coin operated) on it the name seems to be Jack Pop but I cannot find any information on this make. I presume it must date from the 60s but do not know that either. Unfortunately we were burgled and the machine vandalised, the insurance needs to know the value of this item on the present vintage popcorn machines market. I am sending also a couple of photos to the above indicated email. Many thanks in advance for any information, Amelia

Answer
Hi Amelia,

Is the a manufacture or serial number plate that can give us some information? does it work on American coin, how much? I have never seen a machine like this but just by looking at it, my guess would be it was made in the 80's. Does it have any circuit boards inside? Circuit boards started come out in the 70's. Your photo's were not very good so I couldn't see it real good and none of the inside of it. It is a quite, a nice looking machine, if it pop's popcorn fresh for a coin A wild guess as to value would be 1,000.00 to 1,800.00, but this is just a guess on my part without knowing anything about it. I tried running a search on ebay both here and in the UK, nothing so far. I'll try some more and maybe you can answer some of my questions above. Also send some other photos if it's not much trouble for you.
Thank You

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
