Question
I have a set of 6 carousel thimbles which are made out of a heavy silver metal (not sure what type of metal).  They are also painted and do spin around.  There are two horses, two bunnies, and two lions.  I've tried to research them but haven't seen anything like them.  Just wondering if you had any ideas of a possible maker and possibly an approximate age.  Thanks!

Answer
Hello Dawn.  Your thimbles are contemporary (modern) and probably made from pewter.  There are a couple of companies that issued a carousel thimble series - Enesco being one of them.  I'm afraid I can't tell you much more than that without a picture.  May I suggest you search on ebay for something similar?  You might find a picture of exactly what you have and learn more information from the seller.  Good luck with your hunt.  Barb
