hi i have avery old pewter flagon or lidded tankard.inside on the bottom is a mark of a crown above a letter v.i cant seem to find the mark in a book.please help

The v is probably an x - crowned x marks are very commonly used on British pewter, and are found inside the bases of much 19th century holloware such yours. It does little to help identify the maker.
