Collectibles-General (Antiques)/Very old sewing barrel box

Question
I have an antique looking sewing box shaped like a barrel.  It can be taken apart  or put back together.  There is a circular shaped wooden band which goes around the barrel/box to hold it together.  It is about the size of a hat box.  It is very old and crude looking - nothing I've ever seen, although I am new at identifying antiques.  I have a picture of it if you would like to see it.  Is this box antique and valuable?  It looks hand made.

Answer
Hello Marge - I'm afraid that doesn't sound like anything I am familiar with.  I've seen many sewing baskets/stands and this doesn't ring a bell.  Many things were used as sewing containers that weren't originally made for that purpose.  Sorry I couldn't be of more help.  Barb
