I am looking for a time period of a thimble that is silver with fine wire overlay pattern.  The thimble was made in two pieces.  The top being inset into the lower half.

Hello Carol.  Would it be possible to see a digital picture of the thimble?   From your description, it sounds very much like a souvenir Mexican/Central American wirework thimble.  If this is the case, they have been produced since the 1950s through the present.  Without markings on the thimble, there is no way to ascertain if it was made in the 50s, 80s or the present.  If you are able to send a digital picture, I may be able to give you more information.    digitabulist@twcny.rr.com   Barb
