Question
Hello, I have a blue porcelain lollipop penny scale, and am in need of a key to open the back to adjust the weights, and idea where I can buy one? is it worth anything? I have never seen one in this color and its not painted, thanks for any help!

Answer
Hi Julie,

I hope you read this about my Expertise:I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. That being said a photo of you scale would really help me in locating information about it. This might be the guy to ask about keys:

And here is another link that might help you:

http://cgi.ebay.com/PEERLESS-ANTIQUE-COIN-OPERATED-PENNY-SCALE_W0QQitemZ20011606...

Now if you could e-mail me a photo of you scale I might be able to find some information on it, as far as I know there is no book out just dealing with scales but I do have some research on them, My e-mail address is: jackpot7@ix,netcom.com

As for a key, even if you had a blank that would fit it's like everything else, one key does not fit all. You will most likely have to have a lock smith pick it and make you a key or drill the lock out which would be a shame. However your lollipop penny scale is a collectible and is worth money, how much depends on what model it is and year etc., etc., so a photo would help.
Thank You
Sincerely

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
