Question
I just inheritated a antique table that has been passed down through our family.  My mom said she thought it was from the depression era.  While cleaning it I found it was made by the Penn Table Company.  I did a search and found your question.  Where you able to locate anymore information about your table.  Could you email a picture so I can see if they are similar.  Mine is cherry in color has two table leafs and has 6 chairs (one is the captains).  The legs on the table and front of the chairs are decreative and have shading.  Does this seem like yours?  Any information would be appreciated.

Answer
Hi Nicole
Nice to hear from you.
I was not able to locate anything further about this company.
The table was not mine but belonged to another questioner so I have no photos.
Depression era furniture is lovely in most cases but not highly valuable and its readily available in antique stores. But it certainly does not go down in value if its well looked after.
Sorry I could add no more.
Kindest regards
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
