Question
model#A-55 serial # R1 7343.I have pics I can send. What can you tell me about it?what is the value of this?

Answer
Hi Tamara,
Well as my expertise reads, I am not an expert in soda or vending machines but I'll try to help here. I list a model 55 B that looks just like yours, not sure what the difference is here. The model B has the coin mechanism attached on the outside left, your photo is dark so I can't see your coin mechanism, if it is not there, then the model A like yours might be the inside store model which was coin-less and you paid at the counter. I bet this is the difference between the model A and B. Does yours have a coin mechanism? Anyway, the Model B is a slider. it vends 50 bottles and pre cools 80 bottles. Manual operated, 42" high, 27" wide and 19 1/2" deep. Weight 204 pounds. Refrigeration 1/8 h.p. and a hermetically sealed unit. produced late 1940 to late 50's. Value guide has a guide value of $450.00 for average condition and up to $1,850.00 for a fully restored model. I hope this helps.. and thank you for sending a photo.
Thank You
Sincerely
Rodger Knutson

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
