Question
First of all, Mr. Roberts, I have to admire your ability to shrug off the rude questions and answer them anyway, i.e. "lawyers ask questions too" including a few others. I have learned from your site that my pewter one pint Glaskell and Chambers Ltd, Birmingham England (crown, 6, and GR in a small square box next to its upper handle) isn't worth that much....or is it!!? Anyhow, it was great fun to read thru and learn so much on this site. Your sense of  humor is a hoot. Thanks.

Thanks Dona - it's not often I hear from someone who gets the joke!

Well done with your research, and you are right, the value is low, but it's not rubbish, so cherish it for what it is. The GR will be either George V (more likely) or George VI (less likely), so it probably dates somewhere between 1910 and 1940. It might not be all that old in itself, but it may well have been cast in moulds that were first used in the early 19th Century by predecessor firms in either Birmingham or Bewdley.
