Collectibles-General (Antiques)/pewter jug

Question
I have a small pewter jug, approximately 20cm in height.  In shape, it looks like an elegant figure 8 on a circular pedestal.  A narrow spout, shaped as the neck and head of a sea monster, starts from the lower 'belly' and curves vertically up to level with the lid.  A loop handle (the tail) joins the top and bottom of the figure 8 opposite the spout.  The jug has a hinged lid that can be lifted using a knob at its apex or a thumb lever near the top of the handle.  The pewter is a dark grey in colour.  There are three marks on the pedestal - a crowned F, what looks like a double-headed eagle and one other that is too worn to identify.  Hope this makes sense - I have pictures available.

thanks

Send photos to stynt@btopenworld.com, and I shall comment. First thought is probably a 20th century reproduction of an early type of continental European piece.

One thing - if you are planning to sell it on eBay, please don't contact me further. I am tired of writing descriptions so that others can make a profit.
