Question
could you please tell me the date of this pourer the mark that i can see are  on the underside of the pourer arrow pointing up with the letters E.S
and the numbers 17 05  next to that are another stamped mark but i cant make it out and the letters eta? next to that a crown with an x underneath, thankyou lorraine

I would guess it is French (or purporting to be French). Beyond that I can't say much without photos, which you can email to stynt@btopenworld.com - but beware most pieces bearing apparently early dates are fraudulent, especially if of a continental european style.
