Question
Can you please give me an e-mail adress where I can mail you the pics I took of my Sewing machine?  I went out and bought a digital camera and learned how to use it(fun-fun)just for this purpose and now this page won't let me poste an attachment or paste a picture. I think you won't believe your eyes at the quality of these pics.  The machine and table are pristine, mint condition with the exception of a little finish damage on the top. Nothing a sander and stain won't fix.  I still have all the attachments in the original box and the machine runs- complete with original belt.  The ornate carvings on the desk and painting on the machine you will get to see once you recieve the pics. I also took pics of the attachments in the box as well as other original accessories. You wopn't believe this is over 100 years old.  The finish, machine, and all parts are in like "NEW": condition.  I think the wood IS WALNUT but you will probably be able to tell when you see the pics. The only blemishes on the whole thing are the couple areas on top. Outside of that, You would swear it just rolled off the line- not a scratch!!
SO... please send me an e-mail adress or enlighten me on some other way to get these pictures to you. I can't send them through this web page. If it is possible, i am too computer illiterate to know how.  All i Know how to do is send attachments through e-mail. I am looking forward to hearing from you and getting a chance to share this incredibly well preserved piece of our past with you.  I am sure you will be pleased with it's condition and yes, as you will see when I can send you the pics, The machine says STANDARD in beautifull Gold lettering(painted) and surronded with a gold floral pattern It looks spectacular on the black Machine.  Well, I will let the pictures speak for themselves when you get a chance to see them.  I also will include a picture of one of the 6 drawers so you can see the design that surronds each of the 6 handles
Thanks again for your response and your time.  Anxiously awaiting an address or enlightenment on another way to send pics via computer

Answer
Hello James,
Thank you for providing additional information about your sewing machine and worktable. The pictures were most helpful. Firstly, it appears that you own a lovely STANDARD sewing machine with a matching worktable and a complete set of accessories. You have told me that the machine is operational and from what I can see, the condition appears to be excellent. The only damage visible in the photos is on the walnut worktable, and it is not significant at all and could be restored without difficulty.
The thimbles are not worth much at all I'm afraid. They are pot metal and there is one plastic thimble as well.
This machine would date to the early 1900's and it would have been sold along with the worktable as a set.
You have asked me to provide you with a value as you wish to sell this piece.
Having reviewed all of the photos and the additional information you have provided, I would estimate that your STANDARD treadle sewing machine and worktable would be in the neighborhood of $400 - $500. (the accessories alone are worth just over $100 and I have included them in the estimate)
I hope this information helps you.
Irene
