Answer
Hi Dodd,
You are a interesting guy, I loved reading you question, and I understand everything your trying to get across. It is a cool machine and way under valued in my option. When I had mine, years back there was a Alfred E Newman auction, and I found one that was up for sale there. It did good, really good. But I just noe did a search and can't find that auction anymore. As for repair, it's simple, it's the same as any mills machine. Understand how a Mills Machine works and you will know all you need to know about it. Brake away from slot machine people and look for  Alfred E Newman collectors and auctions and you will find where you need, or want to be. If you need help in fixing it, or need parts I may be able to help you.
Thank You for writing. Need the marque glass?, maybe I can even help you with that. Rodger at jackpot7@ix.netcom.com, web site is at coinslots.com

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
