Question
Hi, you seem to be the guy in the know to ask, I have opportunity to purchase a vintage gumball dispenser that requires you to shoot a duck with a penny. it is in a metal looking case(greenish), 18"long, with a 250.00 price tag. I can't  find any reference to such a machine, thanks

Answer
The machine was made by Silver King and is commonly referred to as a shoot the duck by collectors.  It was used in the 1940's and 50's.  They normally sell for $200-350 depending upon condition.  If the machine is complete and works properly it would be a fair price.
