I have a silver thimble with 10 panels on the lower portion. One panel is marked with a 10 and the initials 'S.G' The dimples are diamond shaped.  I'm hoping to get a general idea who the manufacturer is and the age.  Thanks

Hello Frank.  The 10 mark on one of the panels of your thimble indicates the size.  But that's about all I can tell you without a picture or a description of any makers marks.  If you can send a digital picture to me at bacchino@twcny.rr.com, I may be able to help you more.  Barring that, there are many books out on thimbles and a search of eBay may help with your thimble education also.
