Question
I have my mother in laws old singer sewing machine, and my family just went thru a flood. I am trying to find the value - it is on a wooden desk with 3 drawers only one was made to open. the machine will lift out of the "desk" and there is an extension that you open up and fold to the left to pull the machine out- it has a gold seal on front the machine is black. The numbers on the front are 15- and then a gold seal with AL741662. Any ideas?!?

Answer
Hello Stephanie,
I received the photos, thank you.  It is always beneficial for me to see what I am responding to.
I am glad that you managed to save the sewing machine. I  will reiterate that I believe from the AL741662 number that youre machine dates 1953-1955.
The sewing machine itself appears to be in good condition and the cabinet shows some wear.  I would take the photos that you sent me to an antique dealer and see what they will offer you.  It should be in the +$200 range.
