Collectibles-General (Antiques)/stork scissors

Question
I have a stork scissor dated back in the late 1800 (at least that is what we think we can see) made in Germany.  It is very old and in very good condition.   The blade is still sharp and the bird details are still very crisp.

I got on eBay and found some stork scissors from France and Italy but nothing from Germany and nothing similar to what I have.   Are you familar with these scissors?   I would appreciate whatever you can share.

Answer
Hello Tina.  Yes, I am familiar with stork scissors, as I have a couple of pair that I use.  Of course, they are not as old as yours may be.  Scissors from Germany are the most plentiful and came in different shapes and sizes.  There are two books out on scissors you may be able to find to give you more information about them.  Or keep searching on ebay.  You don't mention how big yours are, so I can't tell you an approximate value.  If you can provide a digital picture (bacchino@twcny.rr.com) and let me know the length and width of the scissors, along with any marks, I'll see if I can't tell you something more specific.  Barb
