Questionhi my name is gary sampson,i live in a small village in nova scotia, canada.i have a picture of a ship that as far as i can figure out is done in pewter.It looks like a tall ship,to the right of the ship is written,Explantion of the reference on the plate delineating.The running rigging of a twenty gun ship.It list 80 differentthings refering to to the ship such as;jib horfes,jib guy pendantsand falls,main top sail lifts and so on.ON the bottom below the picture is written published july 1 1818by sturd&goddard, chart sadlers by appointment ,to the admiralty at their navigation warehouse,and naval academy,70 corn hill londonand below is a scale of feet from 10 to 100.i had sent a picture of the ship to a james l claffin,he emailed me back but he couldn,t tell me much about it but he suggested i try and find out more about it before i tried to sell it.any help you might be able to give me would be very much appreciated.i have tried the internet numerous times with no luck.

Afraid I can't help much, though I will say it is good to receive a polite and full enquiry from someone honest enough to declare their intent to sell an item.
A quick google search found "Steel & Goddard", who published maps and charts, and apparently some maritime related books, and were indeed at 70 Cornhill London. Try the search yourself - you'll see that their map of Newfoundland is noted, so perhaps they were particular specialists in Canadian maps/charts, which would fit with your location.
