Question
Hi
I have a thimble which is silver and I think enamel with a kind of white stone at the top and it has 925 and a makers mark which I am hoping you will be able to help me with as it is unusual.  I can send pic and a drawing of the hallmark as it is at the bottom inside the thimble.

Thank you in advance

Answer
Hello,
Thank you for the photo. Yes indeed you have a Scandinavian thimble and more specifically, one made by David-Andersen, of Oslo, Norway.
The hallmark in the inside top of your thimble was used from 1888-1925. It appears from the photo to be silver gilt with enamel and it has a moonstone top.
You have a lovely thimble, treasure it.
