Question
I have a Henry Diston saw that is in good condition, I hate to think where it may finish up when I pass on. What do you suggest
  Thankyou for your help.

Answer
Hi George
So nice to hear from you.
If I was fortunate enough to own a Henry Diston saw, and had no one in mind who would appreciate it (my kids would put it in a yard sale for $2.00 :-), I would post an add in a woodworkers magazine and sell it.
This type of magazine is where a buyer who would appreciate it would be found I think.
You know George, we should all be thinking about our treasures and where they may end up.
My son works at a land fill site as a security guard.
The lovely old things people throw out would make you cry.
Needless to say Mom gets a few of these things :-)
Thanks for the question.
Good Luck
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
