Question Aloha Bob, I have a clear Whitall Tatum no.14 which looks like it was for a single open wire lead. Underneath the word Whitall Tatum is the number 16. and underneath the made in usa is :43: It's in very good shape. Mahalo for the help,
Charley
Answer Thanks Charley --
We identify your insulator as a CD 160, these were smaller versions of the standard CD 162 style that are used for telephone, low voltage distribution and fire alarm circuits. Yours was probably made shortly after World War II -- CD 160's are very collectible with a trade value of $4-$5 or so. Whitall Tatum was based out of Millville, NJ and made bottles, insulators, and labratory glassware --See:
