Question
I have some W. BROOKFIELD New York glass insulators with a large "A" on the reverse side from the name.  They flair out to what I call a skirt.  What is the age?

Just starting out.

Answer
Hi Richard,

Without a picture I cannot be sure of the style you have.  Brookfield was a prolific maker of insulators from the 1860's through 1922.  Insulator collectors have developed a numbering system for the various styles -- here is a link to more on that system:

If you can attach a picture I can help with the value and history.
