Question
I have two large light blue porcelain insulators with the letters JD in a circle on it and they state that they were manufactured in July of 1936. Any idea of where they're from, or what they're worth? Thanks

Hi Miranda,

JD stands for Jeffery Dewitt.  Jeffery Dewitt was based out of Kenova (Huntington), WV and made insulators from about 1920 through the late 1940's.  During their pre-war years they used a distinctive and attractive light blue glaze which covers yours being made in 1936.  JD made a number of power styles ranging from relatively small styles up to larger versions.  I'd need a picture of your insulators to identify the specific style.  JD insulators were quite popular and were used nationwide.  These are popular with collectors due to their color and shape.  Here is a link that includes a number of JD styles:
